Since our team has been diligently working from home for so long now, it’s been quite some time since we had the chance to sit down for a “Meet the Team” interview. But we’re sure glad we did with Steve Mivelaz, Account Manager for Midway Group, to talk about what gets him most excited about starting his work day … and what his chosen super power would be. Plus, we got to use our new photoshoot set up at the studio. Win-win.

Keep reading for the full Q&A and click below to watch some of our favorite moments with Steve.

How long have you worked with Midway Group?

Two and a half years. Which seems crazy – I can’t believe it’s been that long already.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

One of my favorite things that gets me going in the morning is working with all our great clients. I feel lucky for the opportunity to work directly with a lot of manufacturers. Especially with some of the new electric car companies like Lucid and Tesla. But really, the most fun? Being able to drive cool cars!

Do you have a dream car?

I don’t really have a favorite car that would be my ultimate dream car. If I had to choose right now, probably the new F-150 … or the Rivian R1T.

What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of my career and where I’ve been able to grow. What’s nice is that I get to work with a team that can do anything – we’re always talking about new stuff we can be doing. It’s not often you get to work with a team or company that encourages new thinking or new ways of doing something – but at Midway Group, we’re always trying something new.

Spirit animal?

For sure my spirit animal would be a dog. I’m absolutely in love with dogs. My golden retriever Kiba is awesome, she has more personality than I do … which is saying a lot!

Do you have any hobbies?

I just went snowboarding the other weekend and forgot how much I enjoy it.

What gets you excited about starting your day?

The thing that gets me most excited about starting my day is knowing that what I’m doing has an impact … that it’s important. We are putting together very expensive and detailed programs that have very important parameters, and if you miss a step or don’t get it done perfectly, it can derail the entire program. We need to be perfect, so we strive to always be on top of our game and put our clients first.

Favorite movie?

Old School. Funnily enough, it’s because it reminds me of my college experience starting our own fraternity.

Where did you go to school? What did you study?

California State University, Long Beach. I was a business major because it seemed like the most universal subject I could study.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

To read minds. I know most people probably wouldn’t want to read minds, but I think it would be so helpful to know what people are thinking – especially when walking into a pitch. I’m ambitious and the idea of having an edge to anticipate my clients’ needs before we even meet would be awesome.
